Everything is new! Today is the first day of winter AND it’s my birthday!!! I’m 38 years old and I’m totally good with that! I have always felt special that my birthday is on the first day of winter, and as I watched the snow come down all day today, I felt it was a very good thing. AND I’m one of those people who really hate the cold. But it felt right. It’s the first day of winter by golly!
With the recent shooting in Connecticut and all the children that died, I was saddened during the week. And then, the whole Mayan thing about doomsday, the end of the world and everyone was talking about it on twitter and facebook . . . oh, I knew it wasn’t going to happen. One friend on Facebook told me that the Mayans didn’t really predict the end of the world. Actually, what they predicted was a new stage of humanity wherein we would all begin to realize how CONNECTED we are and that there would be peace in this new stage.
I had actually heard this before–several years ago at an artists community.
Think about it.
Here we have so much social media. We can talk to people from all countries and all different religions and walks of life.
I am very active in the social media world and this is something I have done prolifically–talk to people from different countries in all different walks of life and religions. And as I have done this, I have begun to discover these very things that the Mayans suggested (according to my friend) that we really are so interconnected.
At the core of every human being is this urge, this need to be understood and to connect with other people.
When you think about it, aren’t you one of those people? Isn’t that what you really want in your relationships–to be understood and to CONNECT? Don’t you really just want to share the goodness that is in you with everyone you meet? Don’t you really just want to effect change for the BETTER in everyone you meet and to receive that knowledge of good change for yourself as well?
That’s what projectwhitespace is all about! And on this first day of winter, the long eve before the new year, that’s what I am thinking about. In fact, over the past month I have been thinking about this very sincerely. And in fact, over a long period of my life, I have wanted this. There is going to be something new coming with projectwhitespace. and I hope you stick around with me in this new year and watch while it happens. I won’t say anything about it yet. I have some things to do. But I want to HELP HEAL the world. I can help in my own country. Right where I am. I have discovered my ultimate calling and I am so excited about it as I begin to embark on that calling–that TRUE and RIGHT journey of my life. The one that I believe GOD has called me to. It’s about connecting. About peace. About whitespace. It’s about making a difference.
Walk with me.
Opportunity abounds.
Opportunity abounds if you persistently seek it out.

I will walk with you my friend. I had someone say to me a day or so ago that the 22nd was Birth Day. Meaning the Birth of a new era. Like you, your birthday is today and tomorrow is a new beginning for you as well. I wish the very best with your new beginning. I look forward to what the future brings for you and projectwhitespace.
Susan, you are just a dear, and I totally appreciate the support you have shown me over these months.
Happy birthday Bethany. I wish you all success with projectwhitespace.
and for you too, Bindu, with your blog and etsy shop!
Happy birthday Bethany. May your journey be adventurist and satisfying.
Happy Birthday! You are a very special person and I feel blessed to call you my friend. I can’t wait to see what’s on your agenda for the new year.
tee hee hee! It’s coming right up!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETHANY!!! I hope you have the best birthday ever!
Yesterday Santa’s little elves visited and I went shopping, shopping, shopping. Wheee!
I hope that this year is the year Micah and I find our own answers and discover at least a kernel of truth about our own paths. I want us to be able to make a difference, too. I think we need to change ourselves first. We have a lot of work to do, I think.
Good luck!
I hope this is the year for you to find that too!!!! And yes, it usually does come down to changing ourselves. That’s a hard one, but once you figure out what it is you need to change, that’s one of the most difficult steps! At least for me it has been…
Well a very happy birthday to you…………I hope it is an amazing birthday I as you know also love my birthday. As for the end of the world yeah that was a load of grap my daughter explained to me about the end of one stage and the begining of another so I knew it wasn’t the end of the world but the beginging of a new exciting stage in humanity.
Thanks Jo-Anne. And yes, I know you love birthdays too. And I knew it was not real too–about the end of the world.
